Happy Birthday Jagger! Our Big Boy turns 2! Oh and Happy Easter too!

Behind again! Jagger turned 2 on March 30th but we celebrated a little late. We were all sick for a while so we thought we would kill two birds with one stone and celebrate on Easter. We had Todd's mom and grandparents over as well as Kim and the boys. Can't believe our busy boy is two!

Seriously? Sick Again!

No pictures needed for this unless you want to see green runny noses and red, raw cheeks. What is the deal already? Anyone, I mean anyone with some advice? If I turn into the crazy recluse lady you hear about with all the cats just blame it on my sick kids. You know it's a bad sign when you walk outside for the first time around noon and the sun burns your eyes. Being outside is so overrated right? Anyway I will press on.

Good luck to us all this flu season............

Grams and Popo come to Visit

Todd's parents were able to come out and visit for a week and we had such a fun time with them. It is such a joy to see our kids get to interact with their grandparents. They are so thrilled when they come to visit it's almost at the level of Santa, well maybe Easter Bunny. They are great. Thanks Ron and Cindy for coming down and for being amazing grandparents! We love and miss you!

Playing by the pool, it is pretty cool to see 3 generations of Cockrell boys.

Good times at the Zoo

The Quarantine is over!

Well after several weeks of sick kids (Canyon: stomach bug, Jagger: respiratory infection and Cardin: RSV) it felt like it had been forever that we had been stuck in the house. We took advantage of the beautiful weather and went for a family hike up near Lake Pleasant. Canyon was quite the trooper walking the entire 2 mile hike and just chatting away. It was a little bumpy for Jagger and Cardin but overall it was a lot of fun. I must say that we love living in Arizona. There always something to do outside and the weather (I know most of you think it's always 150 degrees) really is awesome. Anyway, just my little plug for our sunny state.

Karate-Kung Fu Cutie

So Canyon just started Karate-Kung Fu last night and it was so fun to watch. Jagger followed along doing the moves while Todd was holding him. She was a little timid at first but warmed up by the end. I have to admit she looked pretty dang cute in that uniform. She did get a little scared a few times when her instructor was yelling out the moves. She told us "I think I like girl teachers better". She just finished gymnastics a few weeks ago and misses that a lot so we will probably put her back in that soon. Let the over-scheduling begin!

Trying to catch up!

A few milestones for Cardin: She got her ears pierced a few weeks ago, she rolls over, cooing and laughing lots, and her first two teeth. She is such a delightful baby, but growing up way to fast.

So here is my pathetic story on why we don't have any cute Christmas morning pictures. Every year sweet Todd works so hard to have everything set up just perfect for the kids to come down and be surprised. And he is very eager to document it all. I however want to just soak up the moment and not worry about the perfect picture or getting the right angle.
I am admitting that Todd does know best. Because year after year I tell him to not worry about the pictures we will get them later, and we don't. So better to not soak up the moment and have beautiful memories to look at later rather then a few random shots of destroyed wrapping paper.

My big brother Brandon(far right), just enlisted in the army and took off to boot camp on Dec 28. We are so proud of his choice to serve but he will be missed by all of us, especially his wife Tammy and their 3 boys.

Cardin exhausted from all the holiday activities

This was our weekend getaway to Huntington Beach CA over the weekend of Dec 13. We went for Todd's work Christmas party. My sweet friend Larissa watched all of our kids for the night. It was such a nice, relaxing weekend. We hung out with friends the Mallory's and the Ashton's.

Yeah!!

So you can see we got our new pictures and we were really happy with how they turned out. Sorry to ruin the surprise but our Christmas card will be sporting one of these pics. One can never get enough of the Cockrell's right? If anyone is interested, our photographer comes to AZ, UT and ID once a year and has great rates. Her website is jamiehammondphotography.com. Thanks to all you so far who have sent your beautiful Christmas cards out all ready. Ours will probably get there just in time to be thrown away:)

So I have to brag......

Real quick I just want to say what a great guy I have. On Saturday afternoon Todd came home from taking Canyon to a movie and was very encouraging for me to leave the house for a while, so I went for a quick jog and came home to these amazing flowers. I was not sure what the occasion was but he told me I only had an hour to get ready. He had his sister Kim all lined up to watch the kids but my brother Brady was in town so he took the two older ones and Kim watched Cardin and we were off. I could not guess for the life of me where we were going and he was throwing me some pretty good false ideas. Anyway he ended up surprising me by getting us tickets to Celine Dion. I was so excited! She is classic. It was awesome!! Maybe I was even a little star struck. He had a girl at his office get the tickets and everything cause he knows I know too much. I am really proud of him getting away with such big secret. It was the best date we have had in a long time. Thanks Babe! Your the best! Love you!!!

Thanksgiving Day Run.....

ALL DONE

Come on who really looks cute when they run? At least I am trying to smile.

Me and my fan club

Well its a start! So I have been running with the kids and felt it was time to set a small goal so I picked a 5k on Thanksgiving morning. It's funny how fast you feel when you always train with the kids in a double running stroller then you go with out it kind of makes you think you are ready for the Olympic try-outs. Last Monday I went running with out the kids and thought hum... I'm not running the 5k I'm going for the 10 mile run, yeah I am ready. But, by the end of that run I was pretty sure the 5k would be sufficient. I was a lot of fun to have Todd and the kids cheer me on and see how excited they were for me to wave at them.

Our Little Busy Bodies

New Family Pics coming soon! We just took pictures on Saturday, and it was CRAZY!!!! I thought I could not get more stressed out but let me tell you, I did. I am for sure TYPE A when it comes to those kind of functions. We did have a beautiful shoot in downtown Scottsdale and we are so excited to see them, so hopefully in 2 weeks we will have them posted. Just a little advice to all you with little ones. Take your pics in a confined environment. Out in the open with a million things to see and hear does not work so well with a 20 month old. No really the location was awesome and we are so anxious to get them back. Our photographer was Jaime Hammond and she take beautiful pics. and travels to all AZ, ID, and UT.

What's the Verdict?

Well everyone who has a couple of kids knows that people are always saying who your kids look like. So with Cardin I have heard a lot of everything. For those of you who didn't know Canyon when she was a baby here she is at 5 months. What do you think? Or maybe she looks like her real Cuban father with all that hair!

CANYON 5 months
Look at that hair! She had so much bows were out of the question.

Better Late Then Never!

Wow almost 3 months after Cardin's Blessing and I still have not taken any pics of her in her dress. So here is my beautiful little girl a little fuller than when she was actually blessed but such a sweet baby. We are so so so happy that we were blessed with such a precious surprise baby. Sometimes life throws curves at you and you are not sure how you are going to handle what is ahead. Three at home has been a whirlwind and overwhelming at times but I can not even imagine our life without Cardin. We are so in love with you sweet baby girl!

Free Haircuts!

SO... Last week I was out in the backyard when I saw a chunk of hair about one inch thick and 5 inches long and realized I had a beautician in my house. Sweet Canyon thought she needed a haircut and decided she could do it all by herself. So the result was chopping it all off to try to even it out. I actually think she looks really cute with short hair but she also looks so grown up. And yes, she has lost scissor privileges.

HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY TODD!!!! (Actually Nov 4th, but waaaaaay too much going on with the election)Yes my sweet husband has joined many of you out there in the 30 and above club. I am still enjoying being super youthful and full of a ridiculous amount of energy because I am 29. Really if you know me lately that last sentence is so far from true. But I will however relish in my last year of twenties. I finally kept my mouth shut this year and surprised him with having our favorite masseuse from the chiropractor's office come to our house after dinner for a 2 hour massage. He had no idea, and it was so fun to see the reaction on his face. I guess that's whats happens when you don't spoil your own surprises!

Happy Halloween!
So this year I wanted Canyon and Jagger to match and we found some cute pirate costumes but Jagger would have nothing to do with it. He would try to rip it off every time I put it on so I gave up and returned it to the store. The day of Halloween my friend Larissa loaned me her sons old costume and we ended up with my perfect little duo. However, by the time it came to Cardin a pumpkin onesie was all I had energy for. Our ward has a huge trunk or treat on some members property with lots of games and decked out cars. In case you were wondering Todd and I went as parents.

I love this picture of Cardin. She is such sweet spirtited baby. She is starting to really respond to us and smile. She is the perfect addition to our family.
